husband owes major back child support

I went back to court recently to get the judge to enforce child support payment which my exhusband has not been making for almost a year now. She reduced his support payment in order to try and get him to pay something. My question is and I forgot to ask her this is What happens to what he still owes me? Does anyone know if the judge can order it to be taken out of a retirement fund he is not yet collecting on? That way I could get one lump some which I could use at this point and then he would be caught up. Please let me know if you have any kind of an answer for me. Thanks!!!

Re: husband owes major back child support

My understanding is he will go in the rearrs until he's paid up. Did the judge reduce his monthly payments because of a change in income or situation? Sometimes parents will just not pay If they feel the monthly support amount is unreasonable or unfair and the other parent is not concerned with how they will live. I agree that kids need support from both parents and it's better if they can both agree on an amount that is fair without the courts deciding.
