Remember that your first consultation with a lawyer is free.  Also if you have your papers from your divorce and child support, take a look over them to see if there is an age that the father was to no longer have to pay child support. If though your papers only say untill further notice by court, and there has never been a notice for him to stop paying.  You can show this to a lawyer in your free consultation....I have seen many cases where when the father is taken back to court, he has to pay for the lawyer.  If you seek a free consultation in your area, and the lawyer and see if that the father must continue to pay the child support, and ask him if at this point going back to court, if the father would also have to pay for your lawyer.  But remember that first consultation is free, you can at least get some advice from your lawyer and make sure to get a copy of your divorce agreement, to show the lawyer.
