When divorcing is child support mandatory???

My husband and I have decided to obtain a divorce. We are on extremely amiable terms and have already worked out custody . We have also agreed niether of us wants to pay or feels like child support mandated by the court is needed. Is it possible to obtain a divorce without the court ruling our personal lives by forcing child support upon us?
