Preparations for your Divorce.

If you are going through a divorce, getting ready to go through a divorce or even thoughts of divorce, there are things that you need to do to prepare your life for the divorce.  You have to get yourself stable and set up for the future.  We all need a helping hand and divorce is a very difficult time in anyone's life, so we need to know where to start, things to do and to get our life ready, so here is a few tips to get you started.

1.  If you do not already have so, your own checking account and savings account is so very important,  also during the divorce when they are separating debt and property money can easily be transferred to your account and they will also be able to tell that you were just preparing your life at the time it was opened  for the divorce.  Having your own checking account is important I believe to anyone's life, wither opening it to start over after a divorce,  or to keep some of our independence.

2.  Now I know not everyone likes credit cards but they are good for establishing credit and you will need your own credit after the divorce.  The smart thing to do with credit cards is to use and then pay right back off makes your credit score better anyhow.  So forming some credit of your own after divorce.

3.  Also I have mentioned this in so many blogs it is important to make sure you know what you have, so that you do not get taken in the divorce process, so make copies of deeds, debt records, investments, prenuptial agreements, you see what  I am saying, you need to have copies and know what you have when the divorce process starts and for your divorce lawyer, but take copes and keep them outside of the home with someone you can trust until the divorce process begins.

4.  A job, it is so very important to have employment of your own and remember you can get alimony in your divorce in some cases, and you can take a look at the alimony blogs on the site by clicking the tags and looking at alimony information in the list of blogs that come up.  Because you may have to return to school after the divorce, but looking and reentering the workforce is important for taking care of oneself.

5.  Health insurance, now you may be able to get and ask for health insurance from your spouse if you were receiving it that way until after the divorce, asking them to allow you enough time to get coverage of your own....if children are involved in the divorce, in a lot of cases they will allow the children to still remain under the spouses coverage.

6.  I also think it is very important to get or see a therapist after your divorce or during the divorce process.  They can help us move on and sometimes answer questions we can not ourselves.

I hope some of these tips help those who are in a divorce or starting the divorce process
