Alimony is for the care of a spouse after a divorce, until they have time to get back on their feet, unless other factors play in, that has alimony after a divorce paid for even the rest of a spouses life.  The divorce courts are usually the ones that decide wither there is alimony after a divorce.  Alimony after a divorce, is called a spousal support in South Carolina.  Alimony after divorce is not a punishment on a spouse.  A spouse has gotten use to a certain lifestyle, and has to have time for education and to reenter the work force.  Alimony after a divorce is not decided on a fault of a divorce either.  So here is a list of factors for alimony after a divorce, several factors can be combined to determine the length and how much alimony after a divorce is to be paid.
