Paying Child Support....

Looking through questions this morning and the reply to am I obligated to pay child support, is a question about custody and child support...first off I have a few questions when it comes to child support and divorce, custody, and was anything put in writing.

This goes back to several divorce and child support blogs I have done, verbal agreements are never the way to go, your child support and divorce issues on what you want need to be put into writing.

Now I think that if you have your child more then 50% of the time there needs to be child support paid, and even if it is a 50/50 both parents need to be contributing to the child's care.

I would seek a child support lawyer, first off make sure that if you have your child over the 50% you have that information for the child support lawyer.  Are you basically paying for all the needs, including child care, day care, and what is the father contributing to the child's life, how often does the father have the child.  Also how old is the child and were you both ever married, and was there anything put in writing for child support and custody?  If not you need to see a child support lawyer for that ANYHOW, that all needs to be done, when the father has, when the mother has, and what cost the parents are splitting if its 50/50, there should still be a contribution to the child's needs that's why everything  needs to be done by a child support lawyer, if not he needs to be paying child support, through information I have read.  Either way your child support and child custody need to be put in writing, I can not stress this enough.

Remember you can get help with a lawyer, and in some conditions the father will have to help pay the child support lawyer.  That is something you also need to discuss on your first free consultation.
