New York Child Support
New York Child support, is on a certain amount to be paid for how many children are being supported by the child support, here is the percentage for how much will be paid from child support, for how many children are involved.
  1. For one child being supported by child support it is 17% of the combined parental income.
  2. For two children being supported by child support it is 25% of the combined parental income.
  3. For three children being supported by child support it is 29% of the combined parental income
Child support in New York is based on both parents income, how much they make together.  If there are more then 3 children OR the non custodial has other children from a different relationship the courts will have to look at all aspects and how much is being paid and possibly refigure all families.  The percentage of combined income from the parents is the biggest factor in how much child support is to be paid, if the non custodial makes less then the custodial, their percentage may be lower and vise versa.  No family should ever be put in a financial jeopardy.  The courts will sometimes if necessary, say the children do know they want to go to college, the courts will have the parents set aside a trust or fund for some of the child support to be placed in, and sometimes this is important to do anyhow. Child support in New York just like most states allow for a modification of the child support at any time, there are certain factors that can make a child support modification come about.  Here is a list of a few child support modifications.
  1. If either parent has an increase or decrease in their income, this can result in child support being modified to fit the parents and the children’s needs.
  2. If any of the children or child decides to spend more time with either parent, this can result in a child support modification.
  3. The child being several years older can result in child support being modified.
  4. If the child has in special financial needs, schooling or medical expenses this also can result in a child support modification.
Every state is different on how it handles child support, but as I have said many times over, people need to remember that it is for the care of their children.

California Child Support.
Child support for California is based on several different things on how much the non custodial parent pays.  Each one is looked into and then a fair amount is set.  Child support is for the care of your children, if you were married, you would take care of your children, a lot of parents forget that and think it is a ploy for another parent to receive income.  Child support should always be used for the children’s needs and a non custodial parent if finds out otherwise can take a custodial parent back to court.  Here are the three things that are looked into in California’s child support payments.
  1. How much is the income of *both* parents, if the custodial makes way more then the non custodial that is factored in as vise versa to this issue, and how much the non custodial parent will pay for child support.  Even if paying child support a parent should never be put into financial jeopardy, remember the child or children will also be spending time with that parent, there should be no issues with one parent being left in a financial jeopardy.
  2. How many children are being cared for through this child support, and does the non custodial pay child support on any other children from past relationships?
  3. How much time the children spend with each parent also determines how much child support will be paid.
In some cases the courts will set up that a portion of the child support in California, should be set aside in a trust or fund for future use, it is also important to remember that your child may want schooling later on.  Parents can also add to the trust or the funds at anytime does not always have to be the child support that is set aside. As in most states, child support can be modified if there has been a major change in either of the parents or the children’s lives. Child support can be modified at any time in California if any of these issues come about.
  1. If either parent gets a decrease or an increase in their income.   This can be for the custodial or non custodial, in how much the child support will be changed.
  2. If the child decides he or she wants to spend more time with either of the parents, again this can allow for a child support modification.
  3. If at anytime the child’s needs change, due to special financial needs, schooling, and medical, child support will be modiied to help with these certain needs.
Child Support Washington.
Child support in Washington is set on certain guidelines. Child support is based upon how much each parent makes and their assets.  Those are both looked into when setting how much child support will be paid in.  Now if neither parent is working, the courts that are setting up the child support will look at past work records and information or imputed income, which is what a person of a certain age and gender would be making.  Child support will be set up to be paid, so finding employment is necessary, the child support is set up on certain guidelines by every court. In Washington there are worksheets that each parent must fill out, they must show all income and how much they make and from all other resources. The child support court will then look over both worksheets of each parent, and then base by looking at them how much child support is to be paid.  If the custodial parent makes more then the non custodial, then less child support will be paid and vise versa.  Child support is not necessarily in Washington is not always gone by how much you make.  Remember child support is for the care of your child. While discussing child support in Washington, remember that the child support can not go over 45% of what the parent’s income is.  Speaking of which child support can not put one parent in any financial jeopardy, so there is what is called a need standard, for a parent to be able to live on, which in Washington is around 800$ per month, unless where your living is going to cost more to live, the child support courts do look at that, you will have child care expenses also. Child support in Washington can be done through wage withholding, especially if the parent is causing any kind of a fight to paying the child support.  It can also be taken out without being behind, and some parents choose to do it that way, more convenient.  Past child support for parents who have not been paying can also be taken out through wage withholding. Child support can be modified also at any time if there have been any changes in.
  1. Either parent’s income increase or decrease.
  2. The children spending more time with one parent, or deciding to live more with another.
  3. If the child needs any special financial, medical or schooling expenses.
Now if the parents agree on a certain amount to be paid between each other, then the courts will also do this when writing up the child support order.  It is when the parent’s can not come to an agreement, that it does go to court and the courts decide the amount of child support to be paid.

Texas Child Support And Child Custody.
First off in this blog, child support is for the care and well being of your child.  In Texas the child support payments and how much you pay are based on your net income, and if you have any other income on the side.  Here is a list of how child support is paid in Texas.
  1. If you have one child it will be twenty percent of your net income, for child support.
  2. If you have two children it will be twenty five percent of your net income, for child support.
  3. If you have three children it will be thirty percent of your net income, for child support.
  4. If you have four children it will be thirty five percent of your net income, for child support.
  5. If you have five children it will be forty percent of your net income, for child support.
Child support in Texas and the payment for child support is only based upon the paying parent’s income.  Child support can be modified at any time in Texas; it can be modified due to change in health and change of job and income, and modified to match those needs.  Child support in Texas is paid until the child reaches legal age, or graduates high school. Information on child custody in Texas.  The courts in Texas make the decision on the child custody, on what is best for the child if the parents are not in agreement for it; here is how the courts make their decision on child custody.
  1. The courts will look at the relationship is between the children and that parent.
  2. If there has ever been any evidence of child abuse.
  3. The overall health of the parent and mental health of the parents, and how close they live to each other for a joint custody.
  4. The overall happiness and safety of the child.
  5. If the child s 12 years of age or older, the child can make a decision in who they would most likely want to live with.
Texas really does stress for parents to try to work out these arrangements so the courts do not have to, remember counseling for a divorce and getting your children settled into a new life style for being back and forth between parents is good, it not only helps the children better understand, but the parents, never let the children think it is their fault.

Ohio Child Support.
Child support in Ohio is a bit different from other states, although most states have the same rules for child support, each state falls somewhat different.  In Ohio the child support to be paid is determined on both parents income, say the custodial makes much more then the non custodial parent, the non custodial parent of course does not pay as much child support unless they have the higher paying job.  The amount of child support to be paid also determines how many children there is.  Now child support falls a bit different and you can sometimes get a government aid, if the income falls under $6,600 and in some cases child support can be higher if the parents are making $150,000.  Now that is for a combined income together, not one parent only making that much.  Child support is for the care of your children.  I like to remind people especially if they were married before, then they took care of their children, what is the fuss about paying money to keep your children healthy and happy. Child support will be issued by the courts and an order for child support will go out to the parent, now here is where child support falls a bit different also in Ohio, most the time the non custodial parent will pay in payments, when either they get their pay or however the family has set up the child support to be paid, in Ohio the child support goes right to the non custodial parents employer and the child support is taken right out of the parents pay weekly, and then sent into the child support bureau, from there it is then mailed to the custodial parent.  So what do they do if the parent is self employed?  Then they courts will issue him to pay what is called a cash bond with the courts for child support.  In Ohio also for child support they courts may hold a part of the parents compensation benefits even retirement to make sure that child support is being paid. In Ohio like most states child support can be modified at anytime, if there are changes to the parents or the children’s life.  Medical reasons with parent or child can be a modification along with loss or gain of income.  Remember with child support as with any sate that you are doing this for your child, not your ex, I understand some non custodial parents worry that the income is going towards the parent and not the children.  It is also important to watch for that in some cases, if you find the custodial parent not being fit.
