Hawaii Child Support.

As I have said, each state has its own way of handling child support issues.  Each state has its own set of guidelines it goes by on how child support is paid.  Child support is for the care of your children, many people forget that.  Here is the set of guidelines that Hawaii goes by in determining how much child support is and how child support is paid.
  1. Both parents’ incomes are looked and researched in determining how much child support will be paid.
  2. The parents borrowing capacity, how much each parent can borrow, it shows the credit of both parents, and how well they are able to care for themselves and others.  This also determines how much child support will be paid.
  3. The specific needs of each child, in paying the child support.  Is there any special needs, schooling or medical needs.
  4. Is there any public need for the child, wither day care or a babysitter.  Child support will need to be for these things also.
  5. Are there any other dependents that the paying parent also has to take care of, other children that are not by this mother?
  6. The standard of living also needs to be balanced for both parents; there is never any need to pace any parent below a poverty level in paying child support.
  7. If a parent has been a stay at home mom or father.
I believe it is also important for parents to work together on all these factors, on paying child support.  If a parent has been a stay at home mother or father, they will have to be given time to reenter the work force, it is always nice when parents will work together. Child support of course can be increased and decreased at any time.  Here are the factors determined if child support will be increased or decreased in Hawaii.
  1. If the parent that is paying child support has lost a job, received a raise or job with higher or lower pay.  Then child support can be increased or decreased.
  2. If the parent receiving the child support has lost a job, received a raise or job with higher or lower pay, again the child support can also be increased or decreased. *NOTE* this is where not putting any parent at poverty level, comes in to play on both of these.
Working together throughout life’s problems, on child support issues can save time and money.  Going back to court can be costly.  A reminder that parents should work together if just for their children.
